ATLANTA (CBS46) -

SkyView Atlanta, the city's giant Ferris wheel that overlooks Centennial Olympic Park, is celebrating its first birthday by giving free rides to people who share its birthday.

Anyone born on July 16 gets to fly for free all day. Just show up with a legal ID.

The perks extend to other riders, too. All day long, SkyView employees will hide cash prizes of up to $100 in the gondolas for anyone taking a flight to find. They'll also give away Braves tickets, toys and other prizes to lucky SkyView fliers.

The first 716 people to take a flight Wednesday between noon and 2 p.m. will get a cupcake and Coke. Everyone who takes a flight can register for SkyView's grand prize drawing. At exactly 7:16 p.m., employees will draw names for the following prizes:

  • Four free regular flights on SkyView
  • Four free VIP flights on SkyView
  • Free use of our VIP event space
  • Cash prize of $716

Fun activities will take place all day long. The Atlanta Braves mascot Homer will be at the SkyView wheel from noon until 2 p.m. Click here for information on ticketing.
