Crime stoppers success needs more reward funding

Judy Randle, Crime Stoppers Chairman Judy Randle, Crime Stoppers Chairman
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Crime Stoppers officials say their program is working so well they need more donations for their reward fund.

The crime stoppers board approved two rewards totaling $600 for tips that helped solve recent crimes. They have a $15,000 budget, but right now they're down to $6000. They're planning fundraisers to replenish the funding, but they're also hoping for other donations too.

"The more successful we are, the more money we need to pay for the rewards,” said Judy Randle, Crime Stoppers Chairman. “We're successful because we're able to work closely with the local law enforcement and we have support from the local media."

Crime stoppers leaders plan to hold one fundraiser in the fall and another by the end of the year. You can donate to Crime Stoppers by clicking here.
