Vehicle break-in calls are through the roof

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Police are investigating to see if several car break ins in the county over the weekend are related to similar crimes at several Albany restaurants.

Two cars parked at the River Point golf Club had their windows smashed Saturday afternoon, and were ransacked.  Wallets, purses, money, and cell phones were stolen from inside the cars.

Nearly a half dozen cars were broken into at three Albany restaurants Saturday night.

"At this point we don't know if they are related to the entering autos in the city of Albany, but that is something we are looking into to see if they are related," said Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick.

Police want everyone to take valuables out of their cars when they park them, and keep their doors locked.

If you have any information about these car break-ins at River Point Saturday, call the Dougherty County Police at 430-6600.
