DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - Douglas city leaders are urging people in town to help police end a series of arsons, robberies, and burglaries.

Mayor James Dennis held a news conference at Douglas City Hall Friday hoping to ease the concerns minds of citizens.

He urged business owners to install more extensive security measures.

He wants people to remain calm but encouraged them to give police information if they know anything about crimes and arsons.

“Our investigators and I are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that will lead to the arrest and convictions of those responsible of these crimes. I urge all our citizens to remain calm,” said Mayor James Dennis.

If you have details about any of the recent crimes, you're asked to call the Douglas Police Department.
