Part of the roof at one home in Leesburg collapsed during Thursday's rainfall.

The part of the roof on Sportsman Club Road was directly above one child's bedroom. Thankfully, nobody was in the room at the time.

"There was no danger present, all the occupants were safe and the homeowner had already contacted the electrician that was here," said Lee County Fire Department captain Todd Kirklan ."So we secured the power to make sure the power was cut off from the panel box and the electrician is on the scene."

The family plans to have an insurance adjustor check out the damage Friday and try to determine the exact cause.
