SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -  Deputies with the Worth County Sheriff's Office said they have seized several illegal commercial gambling machines in a raid, and expect to seize more.  Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby confirmed the investigation Thursday afternoon.

A two-month month investigation was done independent of the Tift investigation which resulted in the seizure of several machines this week. Worth Co.  got tips from concerned citizens who wanted to stop the gambling issue. Owners of both stores have been arrested, with charges pending.

Deputies seized seven machines at Sylvester Express, and are looking at the Soda Pop Shop now.

Hobby said they will start working with the Tift County Sheriff to see if they can make progress in each case. He believes it could be a more serious issue in Worth County and statewide.
