ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The city is one step closer to getting a new McDonald's restaurant.
On Tuesday, commissioners gave the go ahead to extend sewer on the corner of Gillionville and Westover, where the new restaurant will be located.
City officials say this is a great addition for Albany, and is great for economic growth.
“Every new customer and every new restaurant we are appreciative of in the city, especially because it helps generate revenue to support our sewer enterprise fund,” says Phil Roberson, Public Works Director.
No word yet on when the new McDonald's will be built. There are currently four McDonald's locations in Albany.
