Gov. Deal speaks to high school students at VSU

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  Governor Nathan Deal is back in Atlanta tonight after speaking at Valdosta State University Tuesday morning.

He spoke to high school sophomores and juniors currently participating in the Governor's Honors program, which is hosted by VSU. It is a four week academic program for students from across the state who have shown outstanding academic achievement in high school. During the program, the students are challenged in everything from science to the performing arts.

"I think it represents a broad spectrum of what the people of this state are interested in," said Governor Deal, "and to see them excel in all of those areas is certainly encouraging for the future."
