Art Park gets a new canvas

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The downtown Art Park is getting a new canvas. Today volunteers painted the cement floor with a new coat of paint.

A team of young people with Fair Hope United Methodist Church from Alabama are spending their week in Albany as part of a mission trip.

They'll be doing different jobs around the city. We spoke with one of the volunteers who says she enjoys helping out and getting to spend time with her friends.

"These mission trips are not only important to help everyone else but to help you remember how lucky you are for what you have," says volunteer Joy Davis.

About dozen young people and adults were out helping.
