VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

With roads expected to be extra busy through the weekend because of the holiday, GSP is stepping up their patrols.

Troopers were out all day Friday at some of the busier spots along I-75 looking for speeders and aggressive drivers.

The GSP post commander in Valdosta says the best thing to do during a busy travel holiday is to allow extra time to get where you're going.

"Personally, I always try to stress to people whatever length of time it customarily takes you to make a trip, add some time to it so you don't have this stress environment into it," said SFC. Carl Taylor.

The holiday traffic counting period started at 6:00 Thursday   and runs until midnight Sunday.
