GSP teaches child seat belt safety

Posted: Updated:

As more people are on the road, the Georgia State Patrol wants to make sure everyone wears a seatbelt, especially kids.

GSP is using the July 4th holiday to remind people how important it is to properly buckle in kids. Making sure the car seats are in correctly could mean the difference in a life.

Troopers at Post 30 in Cordele are opening their doors to anyone who needs help.

"We want to make sure that children are not only buckled up but buckled up properly, and we always ask the public that if you're not sure if your children are buckled up properly then please come by whether it's a holiday period or anytime during the year and let us check the way they're buckling them up and the way their seats are buckled in vehicles," said SFC Jon Posey.

Post 30 is located off Highway 300 by the Crisp County Sheriff's office.
