POULAN, GA -

A man driving through Worth County near Poulan collided with a small deer Thursday.

The driver knew he had substantial front end damage to his black sedan, but what he didn't realize was there was a second impact; when the deer came crashing through his rear window.

The impact killed the deer, which landed in the car's backseat.

Poulan Police Chief Larry Whisenant told Worth it 2u.net that the driver pulled over in Poulan to see what had happened, and then he and a Poulan officer saw the animal in the car.

Whisenant said it was a small 4-point buck.

And while it is not the traditional deer season in South Georgia, drivers should be aware that deer can appear suddenly on the road, and they will sometimes run toward cars, not away from them, so always be alert.
