Georgia State Patrol increases patrol over holiday
CORDELE, GA (WALB) -
As the holiday weekend begins, law enforcers around the state is stepping up enforcement. The Georgia State Patrol is increasing patrols on interstates, highways, and even back roads to make sure people are safe.
They'll be checking for speeders, seat belt violators, and drunk drivers.
"Our main goal is to focus on operation zero tolerance which is an enforcement patrol where we team up with the sheriff's department and police departments to crack down on impaired driving," said Sergeant First Class Jon Posey of Post 30.
The increased patrols started today will last through the weekend.
