DA files suit against Homerville night club

Clay Cross Clay Cross
CLINCH CO., GA (WALB) -  The Homerville night club where a college student was unintentionally shot and killed in May is now facing more legal action.

District Attorney Dick Perryman has filed a lawsuit against the club's owners. It was filed on June 26th.

The suit claims that the club breeds loitering and crime and that the club 's owners have been selling alcohol at the club illegally because they do not have an alcohol license and because Clinch County is a dry county.

The club has been shut down since the murder, but the lawsuit aims to have it permanently shut down. Clinch County's attorney, Chad Corlee, filed a similar lawsuit against the club's owners on June 23rd.

Neither the DA nor the attorney for the club's owners were available for comment Thursday.
