Selling E-cigs to minors is now a crime

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A new Georgia law has banned the selling and distribution of electronic cigarettes to minors.

The Georgia Department of Public Health wants children and young adults to be aware of the dangers of the cigarettes alternative.

The law was put in effect Tuesday, but Bill's Vapor Center on North Slappey says they don't agree with selling e-cigarettes to minors.

“We've had a couple of close family members die from real cigarettes so our goal is to help people get off cigarettes, not to get kids started on them,” said Michael Summerlin at Bill’s Vapor Center.

DPH says E-cigs can still lead to nicotine addiction in children.
