A Leesburg mother of two has collected a hefty prize playing the Georgia Lottery. Angela Gattie, 33, is one of two players each to match all five numbers from the June 24 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning a $50,000 jackpot prize.

Woodalls #0005, 1400 N. Jefferson St. in Albany, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. The second ticket with the jackpot prize was sold in Norcross. "I logged onto the website the day after the drawing," Gattie explained. "When I saw the numbers matched, I cried and called my husband. He was excited."

Gattie's win is significant because it was her first time playing Fantasy 5. "It was one of those moments," she said. "I was watching the TLC channel, and I decided to play."

A legal secretary, Gattie and her husband, Michael, intend to invest and pay off bills with the windfall. Winning numbers from the June 24 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 8-13-20-27-34.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program.

More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program. For more information on the Georgia Lottery Corp., please visit:  www.galottery.com and www.lotterybenefitsgeorgians.com
