Gun argument over permits leads to arrest

Posted: Updated:

An argument over guns on the day Georgia's new gun law went into effect, led to an arrest Tuesday afternoon in Valdosta.

Ronald Williams, 62, has been charged with disorderly conduct.

He was in the Enmark convenience store on Lee Street around 3 p.m. when officers said he demanded to see the identification and gun permit of another customer who had a gun in a holster.

When that unidentified customer refused, police say Williams pulled his own gun from his holster, but never pointed it.
