ADEL, GA (WALB) -

The city of Adel is looking forward to having a big community event on Labor Day to help bring the community together.

Adel mayor Richard Barr signed the proclamation Tuesday afternoon establishing the first City of Adel Reunion event, which will be held on Labor Day weekend. Organizers have plenty of family fun events scheduled to help bring everyone out.

"The purpose of this reunion is to restore unity back into the community. To provide a clean, fun environment for citizens of all ages to come together," explained Eric Richards, president of the Adel City Reunion Committee.

Money from the event will be used to help pay for scholarships for next year's high school graduates at Cook County High School.

If you can't make it to the event but would still like to donate to the scholarship fund, visit https://www.facebook.com/#!/AdelCityReunion.
