County officials await new air conditioning unit


County officials say a temporary air conditioning unit from Macon is keeping folks at the Central Square Building cool while they await a new unit.

Just a few weeks ago county and city employees were sent home after their HVAC system stopped working.

County Administrator Richard Crowdis says the new  unit will arrive in just a few weeks, and cost about $128,000.

"Fortunately it failed to years before its life cycle which is fifteen years and it was just an unusual situation but it did happen and we had to immediate action," says County Administrator Richard Crowdis.

The county building houses dozens of city and county workers.
