VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Everything is back to normal at a power plant in Valdosta after an afternoon fire there.

The fire happened around 2 p.m. at the Colquitt EMC plant on Lakeland Highway North of Inner Perimeter Road. Officials say the piece of equipment that regulates the voltage from the transformers had a hole in it, which caused it to catch fire.

As of 7 p.m. Monday night, crews were working to install a new replacement part and are trying to figure out how the hole was created. About 4800 people in Eastern Lowndes County were without power for about an hour during the fire.
