Church hosts food pantry giveaway

Mollie Roberts, Associate Director Mollie Roberts, Associate Director

An Albany church is making sure South Georgia families don't go hungry this summer.

Saint Paul's Episcopal Church teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank to pack boxes of foods for families. More than 40 volunteers loaded boxes of juice, vegetables, and bread into people's cars. Church leaders say it's important to give back to the community.

"Jesus said to feed my lambs and whatever you do for the least among us, you do for me," said Mollie Roberts, Associate Director.  "That's what we're trying to do today. We're trying to help feed the lambs and help those in need."

Second Harvest Food Bank received a $500 grant to feed 140 families that were given free boxes of food.
