Supply chain software developer Datex Corporation announced new pharmaceutical editions of its award winning warehouse management software for the pharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences industries.
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) June 27, 2014
Supply chain software developer Datex Corporation announced new pharmaceutical editions of its award winning warehouse management software for the pharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences industries. The new pharmaceutical software editions feature special functionality for manufacturers, warehouses, third party logistics providers and distribution centers and will enable businesses to meet the needs of 21 CFR Part 11 and the new Drug Quality Security Act (DQSA).
Companies working with regulated products such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices require special advanced functionality and flexibility explained Michael Armanious, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Between FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and the new FDA Drug Quality Security Act, pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and 3PLs need to be able to track and trace pharmaceutical products. Our software can trace Lot numbers back to suppliers, through clients by Lot or batch or through outsourcers and can track orders based on expiration date, serial number and batch number.
The new FDA Drug Quality Security Act (DQSA) was passed in late 2013 to address threats to patient safety and security including counterfeited product. In addition, DQSA will improve the effectiveness of the recalls of pharmaceutical products and provide a single uniform policy nationwide. DQSA goes into effect on January 1, 2015 and affects supply chain business across the pharmaceutical industry including pharmaceutical manufacturers, re-packagers, wholesale distributors, third party logistics providers (3PLs) and pharmaceutical dispensers.
The new Datex WMS pharmaceutical edition includes the warehouse management software suite, special quality assurance/quality control, manufacturing and shipping management features to facilitate FDA regulatory compliance. In addition, validation services are included in the special pharmaceutical WMS edition. Datex FootPrint WMS enables DEA Form 222 processing, product hold, inspection and quarantine; multiple level package tracking; serialization and product returns. Pharmaceutical products can be tracked and traced by Lot, serial number, SKU, UPC, batch, package, vial & more. Datex FootPrint WMS relies on workflow to power accurate, efficient productive business processes. Datex FootPrint WMS can be used with RF or RFID solutions to provide complete real time inventory visibility and tracking.
In successful operation since 1978, Datex has helped companies operate more efficiently and productively using state-of-the-art Microsoft technology. Known for developing highly flexible workflow based warehouse management software, Datex WMS is in use by 3PLs, warehousing and distribution operations, and manufacturers across the world.
