ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A west Albany gas station is burglarized early Friday morning, thief gets away with lotto tickets.

It happened around 3:20 Friday morning at the Liberty gas station located on the 3900 block of Gillionville.

Owner Brij Patel says his alarm company contacted him about his store's front window smashed and his motion sensor was activated.

Albany police was already on the scene when Patel arrived to find shattered glass scattered across the entrance.

Patel says he has surveillance but his new light installation interfered with the video. It only caught a glimpse of the thief running out of the lot.

The burglar got away with lotto tickets leaving his crowbar and screwdriver behind at the scene.

Patel tells WALB News 10 that APD dusted for fingerprints and found some located on the windowsill, he says  it is currently under investigation.

To replace the double glass window it is estimated to cost around $600. Patel says out of the two years that he has had the business this is the third time he has had a break-in.
