ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany youth baseball team needs your help to become state champions again.

The Albany American AAA Minor League All-Stars won their district tournament and are raising money to travel to the state tournament in Wrens, Ga in July. They're the defending state champions. Coaches say the players work hard on and off the field.

"They won the state last year, so we coming back to repeat, Leonard Williams, coach. "I think this is a good team and I think we can do it all. I think we can win it all."

They say they've raised $1500 of the $8000 they need. The team will hold fundraisers at Sam's Club Thursday and Sunday and Auto Zone on Slappey Boulevard Saturday. You can also donate to the team by calling their coach, Leonard Williams, at 229-881-2263.
