ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Organizers will begin preparing Wednesday for Friday's Independence Day celebration at MCLB.

It will include vendors, live music, games, and of course fireworks. Base leaders expect several thousand people to attend. They encourage you to bring your lawn chairs, but there are some ground rules.

"Just show up early and don't bring any large bags or coolers, or firearms," said Capt. Justin Jacobs, Deputy Public Affairs Officer. "Kind of treat it as if you are going through the airport."

Last year's event was canceled due to the sequestration budget cuts. The event is free and open to the public. It kicks off Friday at 4:00 p.m.
