LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Lakeland Highway is now back open after an early morning crash.

36-year-old Robert Grove and 37-year-old Angela Navarre were headed from Valdosta to Lanier County to go to work when their SUV went off the road at the curve just North of Moore Crossing.

The car crashed into some trees on the side of the road.

The driver, Robert Grove, was not seriously hurt, but the passenger, Angela Navarre, did have to be extricated and was air lifted from the scene.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation right now.
