CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

The Cordele Farmers Market is filling up with watermelon a little later than usual.

Sheds at the farmer's market aren't as busy this week as in years past. The cold winter and rain forced farmers to wait a little longer to plant.

"This year I believe, the market, it might slow down for a couple days but it'll pick back up, and it will stay steady. Just being because of the late season; not all the farmers have started at once," said vendor Carlos Estrada.

Vendors are hoping the season will be steady through the summer.
