Driver charged with homicide in Albany woman's death

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The driver of the car in a crash that resulted in the death of an Albany woman has been arrested and charged in the case.

Keela Washington, 24, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, first degree Thursday.

The crash happened on March 29th around 3 a.m. when Washington, 17-year-old Santania Williams, and 18-year-old Shakilla Cleveland were in a 2014 Hyundai Sonata driving near the 1500 block of East Oglethorpe.

Cleveland died in the crash. Police said all three were in the car when it ran off the road.

Washington and Williams were taken to the hospital and later released.
