Multiple traffic signals are out due a power failure in the northwest section of Albany. Motorists are advised to use extra caution.
Lorie Farkas at WG&L says the Georgia Power end of the substation at the Albany Mall is where the issue is. The Georgia Power end at this substation feeds MEAG, which supplies WG&L.
Approximately 4,000 customers are without power in northwest Albany.
Georgia Power and WG&L crews are on the scene trying to determine what caused the outage and how to repair it.
Farkas also wants customers to know that in a widespread outage like this it is not necessary to call the Energy Center because the utility knows where the outage is located.
If when the power is restored for this current impacted area and you still don't have electricity, then call WG&L.
