MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA (WALB) -

The 23rd Mission Support Group at Moody Air Force Base has a new commander.

Colonel Norman Dozier assumed command of the group Wednesday morning. Dozier was most recently in an administrative position with the Air Force at the Pentagon. He said he's looking forward to carrying on the success the former commander has built within the group.

"I can tell that Colonel Ford has built a strong team of Airmen to support this important mission and I promise you that we'll continue to care for them the same way that Jerry has done for the past two years," Dozier said as he addressed the group of Airmen and some local community members during the ceremony.

The 23rd Mission Support Group is responsible for everything from security on base to helping plan and coordinate base activities and events.
