Police respond to break-in of East Albany business

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police have responded to a break-in that happened at an east Albany business early Wednesday morning.

It happened at Antojitos Latinos Deli in the 2300 of East Broad Avenue around 4:20am. It appears a rock or a cinder block was used to break the glass out of the front door.

A witness says they saw a black man in the back of the store where a rear door was open.

Officials say a money bag was taken along with documents but was later recovered on the 2200 block of Leonard Ave.

The owner was called in shortly after to identify any other missing items from the meat and grocery market.

There are no suspects and the investigation continues.

We are working with police to gather more information. Stay with WALB for the latest.
