ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Veterans met at the American Legion Post 30 Tuesday afternoon to get details on the clinic's move from downtown to the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

For the most part, veterans are excited about the move. The expanded services like audiology, optometry, physical therapy, and more.

It will save veterans a four-hour round trip drive to Dublin to get the services.

Dr. Frank Jordan, Public Affairs Officer for the Veterans Administration, doesn't think the Marine Base's restrictions on convicted felons will leave out a large number of veterans.

Many people considered the downtown clinic to be too small.

The Marine Base facility will allow for more patients to be seen. The clinic is set to open on the base in August or September.
