A Dawson teenager is in the hospital recovering after being accidentally shot in the stomach Thursday night.
Kentravious Monds was with friends on 11th Avenue and Nelson Street when a jammed gun went off and the bullet hit him in the stomach.
Dawson police came and Monds was taken to the hospital. He may have his friend to thank for coming to help him.
"He didn't really know he was shot at first until he touched his stomach and came running towards me and I grabbed him and I put him on the ground and put my shirt over him," said Jermaine Thomas.
Monds is expected to make a full recovery.
