ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany Area Primary Health Care is getting more than $4 million in federal grant money to provide primary care and fund an HIV Treatment and Prevention program.
That program extends to 6 counties; Dougherty, Lee, Terrell, Calhoun, Baker and Dooly County.
"The grants help us to provide care to those that are unable to pay or only able to pay a minimum charge," CEO Tary Brown said. "Last year we wrote off about 4.8 million dollars to patients on patient's fees."
