MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

A six-year-old boy was flown to an area hospital after a near-drowning at a hotel pool in Mooresville.

The incident happened at the Fairfield Inn off of Highway 150 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officials told WBTV that the boy was found floating in the pool by his grandparents.

Firefighters said that there were several people in and around the pool at the time, but that there were no lifeguards.

The boy was flown to Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte.

His name and condition have not been released.
