Dennis Alvester Hampton, 41, who lives on Floyd Street in Valdosta, was out on bond when he arrested again, and charged with sale of cocaine, Possession of the tools for the commission of a crime, Use of a communications device in a drug transaction, and Obstruction of an officer.
"This case, like many others that we work, the arrest of this person is simply the tip of the iceberg and that's what gets us started with bigger investigations," Lowndes County Sheriff's Lieutenant Stryde Jones stated.
Lowndes Co. Sheriff Chris Prine said that Wednesday night around 10:00, investigators from the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff's Office conducted an undercover operation and arranged for the delivery and sale of cocaine.
After their deal was made on the phone, Dennis Hampton arrived to deliver the cocaine and was arrested. Investigators recovered a small quantity of cocaine. Hampton was arrested in April on similar charges.
At that time Hampton was charged with Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, Possession of Hydrocodone, a schedule 3 narcotic, and possession of marijuana. Hampton was released on a $15,000 bond.
Dennis Hampton was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and booked. He will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court Thursday afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.
Investigators are continuing their investigation and Sheriff Prine is asking that anyone with information on this case, or any other case to contact the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office at 229 671-2950 or anonymous tips can be provided at 229 671-2985 or on line at
