ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Downtown Albany is gearing up for a busy weekend of activities that might offer a little something for everyone.

The Art Park will host a picnic from 10-3 p.m. Saturday. The O'Jays and the Temptations will be performing at the Civic Center Saturday night. Additionally, an international DJ will put on a benefit show at the Flint Riverquarium to raise money for the attraction.

"It's to get people to come out, look at the Riverquarium, get them to donate so we can keep it alive in the community," said Kelly Clay Harrell of the Good Life Social Club. "It's a great resource, educational resource, community resource."

A $10 donation is encouraged at the door.

Downtown activities include a showing a Kung Fu Panda Friday night in Riverfront Park on Saturday. The Freedom Singers will perform at 1 p.m. at the Albany Civil Rights Institute.

Theatre Albany also presents three performances of The Wonderment over the weekend.
