The 2015 budget for Valdosta City Schools is balanced and will allow the district to avoid furlough days.
The school board approved the budget on Monday, which includes roughly $88 million in expenditures.

The district's finance director says he's pleased with the budget. "We're able to work in an environment, once again, that provides 180 days of instruction for our students, no furlough days, and I think that's real important," said finance director Bob Jones.
The budget officially takes effect July first.
