ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Before the storms came through to cool us off the story was the heat and humidity this afternoon.

The Festival Springs Fountain at Riverfront Park in Albany was packed with kids having fun and looking for a break from the heat.

"Well you know, playing with friends and throwing football and the basketball and getting wet, you know it's all good," said Carlos Lamar.

"I think that the waterfall is very great and they need to have more things for the kids to play on and stuff like that so it'll be more fun, but it is fun though," said Shynia Davis.

The park opened Memorial Day weekend.

It will be open each day from 9 a-m to 7 p-m through Labor Day
