Locos owner, Shawn Walters, writes a $1000 check for the American Red Cross
Walters presents check to Lara Gill, Executive Director for the Flint River Chapter of the American Red Cross
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A popular Albany restaurant is helping the American Red Cross support South Georgia disaster victims.
Loco's owner, Shawn Walters, donated $1000 to the Flint River Chapter of the American Red Cross as part of their "Heroes Campaign" this evening. Businesses, groups, or individuals can become a Red Cross Hero by raising a thousand dollars to help pay for food, lodging, clothes and supplies for victims of fires and other disasters.
"It puts our money locally, which we feel very strongly about," said Shawn Walters, Locos Owner. "We want to be able to give back to our community."
"So, people like Locos when they give this money to us they really support people in the local community," said Lara Gill, Executive Director of the Flint River Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Flint River Chapter hopes to raise $15,000. WALB's Ben Roberts is also a Red Cross Hero. If you'd like to help him reach his goal click here.
