Traffic stop leads to meth drug arrests

WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Three people are facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop on Highway 300 in Worth County  this weekend.     

Laura Phillips, Brinton Cox, and Joseph Peacock were stopped during a routine traffic stop Sunday afternoon on the highway near Brown's Place Road, and methamphetamine inside of their vehicle.

They were arrested and have been charged with Possession of meth and drug related objects.    

"It's our job to rid the streets of drugs and people who are selling drugs and people who are poisoning our streets and we're going to continue to do what we need to do to ensure that everyone here can live in a drug free city," said John Mucci, Warwick Drug Commander.        

Phillips, Cox, and Peacock are all being held at the Crisp County Jail.  Police say they'll soon be transferred to Worth County for drug-related warrants.
