ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Walmart on Cordele Road in Albany kicked off its campaign to help raise money for the Children's Miracle Network today.

Kids from all ages with the Dougherty Lee Forestry, Miss Miracle Queens, and Albany State's National Youth Sports Program stood outside Walmart collecting donations. The store's General Manager stood on the roof all day until today's goal was reached.

"We need to collect $3500 to get me off the roof for this event," said Joseph Martinez. "So I will stay there until the money is collected and $5,000 to keep me on the roof."

The store's goal is to collect $20,000 by the second week of June. Walmart partnered with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Albany State's National Youth Sports Program for the fundraiser.
