THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville man remains in critical condition after he was shot in the 300 block of Hopkins St. early this morning.  

Thomasville police say shots were fired around 2:00 a.m. and 32-year-old Melvin Mitchell was hit in his upper body. He was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses told police they saw 28-year-old LeMoses Carr getting into a Silver Sudan. He was later picked up by Sheriff's Deputies on Hall Road. Carr is charged with aggravated assault and probation violation on other robbery and aggravated assault charges. He remains in the Thomas County Jail.
