VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A marijuana grow operation is no longer...operational in Valdosta.

48 year-old Craig Carter was arrested at his home at 1605 Larue Drive in Valdosta Tuesday night.
Lowndes County sheriff's deputies went to the home after receiving numerous complaints from citizens. Deputies found 12 marijuana plants inside the home along with nearly 230 grams of marijuana that had already been harvested.

"When you first hear '12 plants', you think that's not a whole lot. But again, when you look at the growth potential over the lifetime of the plant, that's a lot of marijuana that was taken off the street that will never be out there to hurt anybody," Lowndes County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Stryde Jones stated.

Craig Carter is facing multiple charges, including manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana.
