Judge Lockette discharged from hospital after wreck

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Chief Dougherty Superior Court Judge Willie Lockette was discharged Friday morning from the hospital, after a Thursday evening crash in northwest Albany.

Wilmer Mosely, 41, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign on Barnesdale Way.

Police say he pulled his Cadillac DeVille into Stuart Avenue about 7:15 p.m. and slammed into the passenger's side of the judge's Ford Mustang.

Lockette's son told WALB he's thankful it wasn't worse.

"Dad seemed pretty coherent, he knew who I was when I talked with him before he left and went to the hospital," Earl Lockette said. "Accidents happen and we just thank God that he is still here with us."

Two passengers in the Cadillac also suffered minor injuries and were taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital.
