TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tifton police are looking for a gas station purse snatcher.

A woman was pumping gas at the Flash Foods on Highway 82 west when a white car pull up beside her and someone grabbed her purse from her front seat.

Surveillance pictures show the man crouching down and opening the victim's side car door.

Investigators say the woman did not know her purse was gone until she got back in her car. Police were able to view surveillance video from the store and saw the man get out the back seat of the white car to steal the purse.

Police say the white car may have a Florida tag.

"Trying to investigate where this car may be. Is it local, is it a Florida tag. If it is, is it a resident of Florida or a rental car?" said Lt. Dunston, Tifton Police Department.

Tifton police say a similar theft at another gas station happened about 30 minutes before this incident. Police urges women to take their purse out their cars and to locked their doors at all times.
