SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

Some folks in Sylvester get a sneak peak at the new Walmart that's about to open.

Community leaders and store employees and their families were invited to an open house Monday night.

Chamber of Commerce leaders say Walmart has already proven to be a good corporate citizen by donating money to local nonprofit groups, and they're excited about the new tax revenue the store will produce. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karen Rackley said, "If we want more things to come into our community, then we've got to support our community, and again it goes back to that three cent on every dollar. You know, it paves our roads. It builds our schools, and it makes us a very strong and viable place for people to want to come live."

The store will open Wednesday morning following a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:30.
