(WMC) - A Tennessee bride strapped her 1-month-old to the train of her wedding dress as she walked down the aisle and received attention from around the world.

The mother marched down the aisle of the Elam Baptist Church in Ripley, Tenn. weeks ago.

"I thought she was crazy," said Jackson resident Davis Parten with a laugh."I don't know where she got the idea for that, but there's a lot better ways to have your baby in your wedding than dragging him down the aisle in your dress."

Many people were shocked to see the pictures pop up online immediately after the wedding. It only took days for it to spread like wild fire.

"What if the baby would've rolled off or something?" asked resident Tosha Dees.

According to a post on mother Shona Carter-Brooks' Facebook page, her baby was awake and secured in the train of her dress. Carter-Brooks had supporters on her page who said they were at the wedding and they didn't see any harm in the mother's decision to attach her baby to the train of her gown.

Friends say the baby was not harmed in the process.
