Lawmen search for burglary suspects

OCILLA, GA (WALB) -

Irwin County Sheriff's investigators continue their search Tuesday morning for two people suspecting of breaking into a house on Lotus Road.

Sheriff's investigators say the homeowner's grandson was riding by the house around 4:00 p.m. Monday and saw a strange car parked under the carport.

When the grandson turned into the driveway, two people came out of the house.

Jumped in the car and drove off. Investigators say the homeowner was following the vehicle when the car stopped at Jowers Lane and Wray-Ambrose Road.

The two suspects got out of the car and jumped into the woods.

Law enforcement agencies used canines and helicopters to search for the two suspects past midnight.

Sheriff's investigators are back in the area Tuesday morning but without the helicopters and dogs.

Investigators are still working to try to determine the identities of the two suspects.
