CUTHBERT, GA (WALB) -

From Aaryn Valenzuela;

Cuthbert Police say a man charged with driving into a statue in the middle of town has been released from jail.

Chief Bobby Wiggins says 52-year old Endrea Session has been charged with striking a fixed object, damage to government property, no belts and failure to yield.

Wiggins says Sessions was traveling north on Blakely Street at a high rate of speed when he jumped the curb at the town square and struck the Confederate statue that has been located in the city square since the late 1800's.

Chief Wiggins estimates the damage cost is at least $20,000.
